Steven Humphreys

HNC Construction Management, BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management, ILM Level 5 in Leadership and Management, SMSTS, IOSH

Steve is our Construction Director with 20 plus years professional experience in the Property/Construction Sector.

As a senior Construction Manager at both GallifordTry Construction North West and Seddon Construction Ltd, he has presided over numerous schemes in the North of England in both the public and private sectors.

With a patient and professional approach his experience and strong stakeholder and customer communication skills have seen him develop and deliver schemes of up to £25 million through their entire lifecycle, taking them from earliest inception, through design into the construction and delivery phase before closing though post contract liaison ensuring all statutory and specification requirements are successfully executed.

Phil Wakefield

BSc (Hons),MCIOB

Phil has worked within the construction industry for more than 35 years with a career that has seen him undertake senior management positions for key national contractors, including Carillion, Bovis Lend Lease and AMEC.

He has been responsible for the delivery of some of the most prestigious residential projects across the UK including Beetham Tower in Manchester and Battersea Power Station.

Phil has a wealth of experience in delivering customer focussed construction projects both in the public and private sectors. Delivering to the common goals of time, cost and quality are key to great projects and exceeding customer expectations.

Phil helps bring together the extensive skills of key individual organisations to effectively deliver the mutual goals needed for a successful project.

Paul Burgess

BA(Hons) Law

Paul is a practising Lawyer with 40 years professional/legal experience in the Property/Construction sector.

As a Main Board Director at The Emerson Group for 30 years, he helped oversee the Construction of some of the largest schemes in the North West through in-house construction delivery, with a focus and track record of delivering numerous “on time/on budget“ schemes of up to £50 million.

This experience carried on as COO of a major residential led inner city Manchester developer, with him leading on the setting up of in house construction capabilities to take that business forward.

He has both the legal knowledge of all facets of building and construction, and the practical /pragmatic experience of dealing with matters from both a Developers and a Contractors viewpoint.

Mark Fallon

HNC Quantity Surveying, MCIOB

Mark has been employed as a Quantity Surveyor within Property and Construction for more than 40 years working at all levels throughout his career with vast experience in all sectors of the Industry.

Mark has all the attributes and knowledge to ensure that all key objectives are met for both the Business and their Clients ensuring that the supply chain employed are capable of delivering quality projects on time and to the required budget. This has been successfully demonstrated on major schemes ranging in value up to £30m across a broad range of Client disciplines.

Engaged by a number of major construction companies within the Country Mark takes great pride in his measured approach to problem solving and mentoring/developing staff to achieve their full potential.

Ian Matthews

Ian has over 30 years of hands-on experience across all levels of construction management during his time at Seddon Construction and McGoff Construction, successfully guiding teams whilst coordinating the design, development, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects up to £35m for both private and public sector clients.

With a broad skillset and a strong eye for build quality, Ian’s extensive industry background and expertise gives him invaluable ‘on-the-ground’ Project Management expertise, allowing him to solve complex project issues with optimal, efficient and cost-effective solutions.

With a keen focus on safety, stakeholder engagement and construction innovations, Ian takes great pride in forging great client, sub-contractor, and community relationships for every project he runs.

Steve Dath

Steve is a highly skilled Construction Manager with over 40 years’ experience on various sites nationally across the UK.

During his career Steve has worked for Construction companies including Bovis Lend Lease, John Laing Group, Carillion, Bam Nuttall and now with us at HCC Construction Ltd. He has a diverse background in various construction sectors working on the railway, redevelopment of new educational projects, multi-story apartment blocks, airports, nuclear sector and most recently delivering New build properties in Monton.

Outside of work Steve is heavily involved in local youth work helping disabled people reach their potential in various outdoor pursuits and spends most of his spare time with his grandchildren and family.

James Bell

Experienced and qualified Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 10 years of expertise in the construction industry across sectors working on projects between £1m and £15m.

Proficient in cost estimation, project management, and contract administration. Committed to delivering high-quality work while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Passionate about being an integral part of the site team with a good build knowledge and also maximizing value for clients and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and supply chain. Constantly seeking to expand knowledge and skills to stay ahead of industry trends.
